Born in Argentina, Marcelo loved food since he was a child. He began eating and cooking Italian food at a young age! As a teenager he became a first division soccer player, and later played for the national team. Soccer travels with the team gave him his first exposure to the United States, during which time he dreamed of moving to America.

When Marcello's soccer career ended, he met his wife Colleen Della in NYC and shortly thereafter, they moved to Aspen where they live with their two children.

In 1997, Marcelo opened a trattoria in Aspen called Toscana that he ran for five years. He went on to work in Cache Cache, one of Aspen's most popular restaurants. As gisella's manager, Marcelo is the happy face who greets every customers on a nightly basis.
